The History of Operation Somebody Cares
Will Cosby served as a missionary in Australia from 1963 until 1973. Operation Somebody Cares was founded in 1973 by missionary Will Cosby. After returning to America for health reasons, the Lord led Will Cosby to work with Jack Chick and Chick Publications from 1973 until 1993. Jack Chick gave Will Cosby permission to print a tract similar to the most popular Chick tract. In 1995, Will Cosby was led to move to Romania where he served for three years until 1998. In 1998, Will Cosby moved back to the U.S.A.
In 2005, Will Cosby went to heaven and Charles Harrison, the pastor of Mountain View Baptist Church, has become the new leader of OSC. In 2019, Pastor Jason Alverson and Pastor Charles Harrison were leading the ministry. Kenneth Edwards is the director of the print shop. Pastor Charles Harrison moved to Florida and helped to establish a printing ministry in Florida for Operation Somebody Cares. Right now, there are print shops in Virginia and Florida for Operation Somebody Cares.
In 2020, Pastor Charles Harrison went to heaven. His son Chuck Harrison is now leading the ministry. God has used the ministry of Operation Somebody Cares to send more than 20 million illustrated gospel booklets and scriptures to 35 different countries. They have recorded over 40,000 personal salvation decisions as a result and over 30 churches have been started.
